WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Wanganui Education Board was held yesterday. Present; Messrs Pirani (Chairman), Aldridge, Bennett, Cargill, Dixon, Fraser, Purnell, and Spurdle. Leave of absence was granted to Mr Guthrie.
Appointments: B. Brenuard, Riverton; Miss Armstrong, Rongotea; Miss Strack, Hawera. The following resignations were granted: E. E. Morgan, Utiku; E. M. George, Fraser Road; T. C. Adams, Taoroa ; Mr Steele, Engineer Instructor at the Technical School, Wanganui. Mr Anderson, teacher at Utiku ; wrote with reference to taking up an insurance agency. It was resolved that Mr Anderson be informed that the Board objected. Rev. LeCroix wrote asking the Board not to permit the use of the school after school hours, for Bible teaching. It was decided to reply that the decision in this matter rests in the hands of the School Committee. It was resolved to make enquiries as to conditions under which the Board’s employees could be insured.
Resolved to execute repairs as suggested by Mr Bennett to the Jackeytown School. Long burn Committee were granted 35s to clear out. drain.
Leave of absence was granted to F. Neilsou, St. Johns; G. D. Mackay, Taoroa ; and J. C. Hill, Feilding D.H.S. Accounts amounting to ,£9lB 16s 6d were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned till 15th July.
