The Orangia Assembly has adopted the union resolutions unanimously. A thousand Indians at Johannesburg have expressed dissatisfaction at the Government’s refusal to repeal the Asiatics Registration Act according to the terms of the compromise concluded in January Pretoria, June 24.
After Dr Smutt’s declaration that South Africa was ripe for union and it would be unwise to lose a glorious opportunity, the Transvaal Assembly unanimously adopted the union resolutions.
