William Pincombe, the supposed anti-religious maniac who shot dead an Anglican lay reader named Robinson at Blackwood, and who was himself shot in the head by a constable (whom Pincombe had fired at, but missed), has succumbed to his wound.

Representatives of friendly societies asked the .Government to acaccept investments of the societies’ amounting to ,£1,700,000, at 4 per cent.
The Premier, Mr Bent, replied that the Government would want no money for the next five years, and then not much. He would recommend Cabinet to give per cent, on the money. Melbourne, Juue 25.
There is an epidemic of diphtheria in the city. Two hundred and thirty cases have been treated since the beginning of March,

In reply to a cablegram, the Christian Science authorities here have been advised that Christian Science was not the issue in the Solomon Raisler case, but the charge was one of irregular medical practice.
