It is astonishing how careless the average man and woman is with regard to his or her registration, remarks the Christchurch Star. They seem to take it as a matter of fact that having been once registered, they are registered for all time, and to take no steps to see that the purging of the rolls or the fact of removal to another district, or any of the other accidents of time and place, has not resulted in their names being dropped. There is no excuse for any qualified elector finding at the eleventh hour that be is not upon the roll, (or it is the obvious duty of all to see that their names are there.
