The Manawatu Herald. TUESDAY, JUNE 9, 1908. NO RIGHT-OF-WAY.
The Nuisance Inspector reported at last night’s Borough Council meeting that a certiin dwelling in Main Street occupied the full width of the section upon which it stood, and there was consequently no right-of-way, except through the house, to the back yard. The back yard is hedged in by private properties. The point is that when the sanitary contractor calls to perform his duties he has perforce to walk through the house- This, it was pointed out, was a most unsatisfactory state of affairs. The inspector stated that he had advised the tenants to remove to other quarters. The case is rather a peculiar one, but the Council did not take any action in the matter. Of course, so long as the occupiers do not mind the sanitrjr contractor using the front room as a thoroughfare, we suppose it does not concern anyone else.
