Eondon, May 25. Two teams of English schoolboys shot for Eord Meath’s trophy. One team was composed of boys of an average age of 13 years and 9 months. They scored 862. The second team, composed of boys nine months older, notched 860. A lad named Mormald, of Swan Street School, city, scored 118. Eondon, May 25.
The Daily Express states that an Austrian princess eloped and reached Eondou, hoping to be married at a registry office. The Manchester train thief describes herself as Margaret Gardner, widow. She pawned a portion of the contents of the package and shared the proceeds with two racecourse frequenters. Eondon, May 26.
Eater details In connection with the railway collision at Contich (six miles from Antwerp), in which 40 persons were killed, and 80 injured, show that the Brussels express, through a mistake, turned on to a siding where a crowded pilgrim train was standing. The express engine was thrown on top of the pilgrim train, crushing several carriages. A number of young girls dressed for their first communion were killed. New York, May 25.
The Morell airship, 405 feet long propelled by 45 h.p. engines, fell from a height of 300 feet in her trial trip, in the presence of a thousand spectators, at Berkeley, California. The 16 occupants were seriously injured, there being many fractured limbs. The victims were local residents contemplating investments in a company proposing to build airships. Sydney, May 25.
