Mr F. Pownall, of the New Zea - land and Canterbury Farmers’ CoOperative Associations, Wellington, reports as follows, all quotations being f.0.b., port of shipment, sacks free. Oats: —Store stocks are being relieved by Commonwealth drawings, keeping values firm. Chaffing, at present returns, is causing shrinkage in threshings and will strengthen vendors hands during winter months. B grade Danish rule at 2/7, s bills 2/7 y*, gartons 2/8, colonial seeds 3/-. Imperial Algerians 3/11. Wheat: —Recent Home advance, and in Australia, has not been sustained, Adelaide receding to 4/5 from 4/6. Dominion holders are seeking 5/- for best milling, and restricting trade. Fowl feed 4/10 Yi. Present flour prices locally will induce imports, Melbourne now offering at less landed costs. Potatoes: —Market is active despite unsettled shipping regulations whites selling freely at £5. Blues 105/. Tasmania advises a firming. Maize : —Small shipments North clean at 5/6. Barley ;—Malting quiet 5/3. Feed 3/9. Peas Partridge fair sale 4/6. Split £ls 10/-. Bran. —Reduced output has risen cost to £6 5/-. Pollard : Demand above supply at £7 10/-. Oatmeal: —25/- remain at £l3. Rolled Oats £lB. Gatina 10/6. Slight advance probable. Chaff : Sydney buying has hardened bright cut to 102/6. Medium 85/- to 90/-. Rye-corn chaff 75/-. Oat-straw chaff 60/-. Hay : —Pressed straw is worth 45/-. Rye-clover hay 87/6.
