MACMAHON’S EXQUISITE PICTURES.
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NEXT. The New Zealand Herald, referring to this delightful living picture entertainment, which will be given at the Public Hall on Friday and Saturday evenings next, said. —In these days of progress in the kinematographic art, it is becoming more and more difficult for the inventors of living picture stories to hit upon something new. However, that the end of resource has not yet come is proved by the subjects which are included in MacMahon Brothers’ entertainment, presented for the first time on Tuesday night at His Majesty’s Theatre, Auckland. Additional interest attached to the presentation of'the pictures owing to the complete absence of flicker. The opening series of pictures comprised the comical subjects “The Policeman’s Run,” “ The Haunted House,” “ The Maniac Juggler,” etc. In “ The Cabin Boy ” tliere was an affecting little story, graphically told. Two of the funniest pictures ever seen here were ‘‘ A Quiet Hotel ’ ’ and ‘ ‘ Her First Ride.” “A Ten Mile Steeplechase,” depicting a race from start to finish, proved as exciting as the most ardent sportsman could desire. Some beautiful coloured subjects were also shown, including “The Harlequin’s Love Story,” “The Magic Mirrors,” the delightful fantasy “ Easter Eggs,” and the charming pictured story, “Lostin the Alps.” The popular young contralto, Miss Lorraine Tansley, will appear in a repertoire of the latest musical successes.
