BOARD AND SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

Wellington, May 4. In the Appeal Court to-day, judgment was given in the case of Bruce and others versus Wanganui Education Board. Mr Justice Williams, in delivering his judgment, state! that the case depended upon section 124 of “The Education Act, 1904.” That section gave the Education Board controlling power and made it paramount. It was necessar}', for the conformity of the system of school hours, the Board and not the School Committee, should have control. His Honour agreed with the conclusion of Judge Cooper in the Court below, and held that the appeal should be dismissed. All the members of the Court concurred, and the appeal was dismissed, with costs on the middle scale, and as from a distance.
