GRAIN REPORT.
Mr F. Powuall, of the New Zealand and Canterbury Farmers’ CoOperative Associations, reports as follows, all quotations being f.0.b., truck or wharf Wellington. Sacks free. Oats: —Limited threshings tend to keep market firm, though farmers disinclination to unburden is untenable. No foreign market is available, and values must suffer later in consequence. B grade Danish and s bills rule at 2s 6d, gartons 2s duns as .yd, seeds 2S rod. Wheat : Commonwealth reports are weak, congestion in Home quarters beating back. Dominions stocks are likely to be augmented by South Australian, best milling being held here for 4s Bd. Fowl feed 4s 6d, further hardening not expected. Potatoes : Regulated supply meeting with active clearance, has caused upward movement. Whites strengthening to 90s, blues 100 s; advance should be sustained unless Australian imports prove more saleable. Maize: Shipments small and irregular, costing 5s id. Bareev : Malting stands at 5s 3d, feed 3s 6d, seed Cape 4s 6d. Peas ;—Partridge, dearer 4s 6d ; split £ls 10s. Bran : —ln good request at x 5 5 s - POEEARD : Output still short at Oatmeae 25s remain at Rolled Oats ,£lB, Oatina 10s 6d. Chaff; —Abundance of green feed has eased demand, bright oat-sheaf standing firm at 955. Tendency is upward with usual winter interference in cutting. Straw Chaff 60s. Hay :—Rye-clover is worth 85s, pressed straw 40s.
