TELEGRAPHIC.
Masterton, April 29. On Sunday evening during service at Knox Church a purse containing money and a gold watch were abstracted from a lady’s coat hanging in the choir room. Two men were suspected by the police as being connected with the theft. They were strangers to Masterton and subsequently they were traced to Hastings, where one named Francis Bery has been arrested. The watch has been recovered.
