THE VICTORIAN RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

Royal Commission of Enquiry. Melbourne, April 29. In the presence of the coroner and a number of experts, tests were made with the Bendigo train under conditions similar to those existing at the time of the Braybrook accident. The second engine in use at the time of the collision was employed and the carriages were loaded with sandbags of the approximate weight of the passengers. All the suspended engiiiemen with the exception of Milburn were aboard. The trials proved that the brakes were efficient in stopping the train. The claims for injuries have increased to 378. Cabinet has decided to appoint a Royal Commission to enquire into the accident, Mr Justice Cusseu being president.
