Householders’ Meeting. The annual meeting of householders was held after the above meeting, and there was a very good attendance present. Mr A. 1). Clemctt was voted to the chair. He called upon the Chairman of Committee to read the annual report, which summarised the work of the year. Three chairmen had been elected dining the term ; the works consisted of the election of a new dwelling by the Board for the headmaster, a concrete cruket pit- h had been put down in the plavgton .cl at a cost of £6 ; new gate erected and limestone raised footway to the school, and that night a tender had been accepted for the election of three chains of iron fence. Reference was made to the headmaster’s school classification, which had created considerable discussion at committee meetings and among certain parents who had felt aggrieved; the Board had instructed the Chief Inspector to hold an enquiry, the committee and parents had stated their case, and as a result a better feeling now exists between all parties concerned ; the committee made strenuous efforts to establish a technical school in Foxton, and public addresses were delivered 011 the subject of technical education during the year by Messrs Amos, Braik, Hintz and Grant. For several mouths during the year the school attendance had been interfered with owing to an epidemic of measles, whooping cough and influenza, but since the summer vacation the attendance has been the highest 011 record. The sum of ;£i2 os 3d was collected for prizes, which were distributed among the scholars. Reference was made to the excellent manner in which the secretarial duties had been carried out by Mr Frankland. The statement of receipts and expenses was read, the latter showing a credit of £3 odd, but owing to the loss of the pass-book the statement could not be authenticated. The report was adopted, and a vote of thanks passed to the outgoing committee, on the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Mr Hunt.
