Messrs Levin and Company, limited, Wellington, report as follows regarding Friday’s sale : We held our fortnightly sale today, offering a small quantity of wool in bales and bags, 1,500 skins, 750 hides and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool.. —Market remains steady at last sale rates. We quote: Medium crossbred, q)4cl to 5d ; inferior, 3d to qd ; lambs wool, qd to 3d ; pieces, 2d to 3d ; locks, id to 2d. Skins : No change to record. We quote. — Fine crossbreds, sd to breds, to 3d 3j4d ; dry pelts, 2d to 2)4d ; lamb skins, qd to q>,(d ; green pelts, 2s to 2s 8d : green lambs (woolly), 2s to 2s 8d ; green lamb pelts, is to is 7d. Taeeow : —Quiet. Parcels in shipping order, ss. Tins, to Rough fat, ,£l3 to ,£l4. Horsehair: is to is 3d per. lb. Horns :5s to 17s 6d per. hundred. Cowtaies: is 6d per dozen. Hides : There was a good demand for good condition ox hides and prices advanced a half-penny. Other lines no change. We quote :Ox hides (heavy), 6d to 6s4d ; ox hides (medium), 6d to 63/sd ; ox hides (light), qd to 5d ; cow hides, to qj(d ; cut and slippy hides, 2d to bull hides, 2d to 3d ; calf (best), qd to qjlid ; calf (cut and slippy), 2d to 3d.
