The Rugby League tendered the New Zealand professional footballers a reception in the Town Hall. Wright, the New Zealand captain, replying for the visitors, said they had learned many. lessons during their tour. One was that the old amateur Rugby game was not the only game in the world. He was sure the public would flock to see the new League game. He did not think there was a player in England who could kick goals like Messenger.
The following team will represent Albions against Shannon on Easter Monday at Foxton ;—Osboldstone, Frankland, Rose, Perawiti 2, Mo mo, Maitland, Hukiki, Hunt, Cook, Puti, Meadows, Broughton, Hannah, Chalk. Emergencies. Desmond, Rimmer, J. and E. Walker, Furrie Klien,. Centre. Play to commence at 2.30. The President of the Foxton Sub Union, advertises the annual meeting to take place in Whyte’s Hotel, on Wednesday evening next.
