FOOTPATHS.

Rathpavkks and householders in the vicinity of Park Street and Thynne Street are petitioning the Borough Council for a footway from Manchester House to the corner of Thynne Street, and along the south side of Thynne Street. On dark evenings this road, with its ups and downs, is a snare and a delusion. It is hoped the Council will accede to the request oft he petitioners. In fact, we should like to see more attention paid to the whole of the footways throughout the borough ; also, a footpath properly formed to the Park, which is so much used during the football season. If the Council cannot carry out' this work from general revenue, then we feel sure the ratepayers would sanction a loan of, say, £2 OOO for the carrying out of this work. We nope the Council will devote a little time to this subject on Monday night-
