GRAIN REPORT.
Mr F. Pownall, of the N-Z. and Canterbury Fanners’ Co-Operative Assocations, Wellington, reports as follows, all quotations being f.0.b., port of shipment, sacks fiee unless sj ecified : — Oats. — Grain | stoies show signs of accumulation, with vendors above buyers limits. Melbourne and Sydney, are drawing small qu ntities suitable for milling with further enquiries for feed. An opening in that quarter will strengthen pres.nt costs, B Grade Danish and Cartons ruling at 23 s}4d, S-Bills 2-; 6J, Duns 2S 7d. Wheat. —The Argentine, with phenomenal season, is flooding Home market, with weakening effect, and checking advance in Commonwealth and Dominion. Flour has risen locally, aud wheat will follow slightly. Milling is firm at 4s Bd. Fowl feed 4s 7d. Potatoes. —Qualities offering are excellent, and South Island crops abundant. Whites are worthy. Red keepers ,£5 ss, Tasmanians same money, but delivery regulations are proving restrictive. Maize. —Small enquiry at 4s 7d Barley. —Demand slackening. Malting ss, feed 3s gd, cape 3s gdPeas. —Partridge active 4s 3d, whites 6s, split ,£ls 10s. Bran. — In good request at ,£5 ss. Pollard.' —Nominally ,£6 10s, with no stocks. Oatmeal. —25s stationary at £ 13. Rolled Oats ,£lB. Oatina 10s 6d. Chaff. —South are unloading Northwards at 92s 6d si, with heavy supply available.
