N.Z. BEEF FOR BRITAIN.
Auckland, March 26,
Replying to a deptation from the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company on the subject of the restrictions likely to be imposed by the British Government on importations of boned beef, the Premier staled that the Government had sent Home two officers to help the High Commissioner to ascertain what difficulties there were in regard to the importation of New Zealand produce into Britain. The Board of Trade was aware of the inspection of meat here and familiar with our methods, but it should not be expected that the inspection made here would be accepted by the British Government. All the representations possible would, however, be made on the subject.
