The New Zealand Doan and Mercantile Agency Company report as follows : —At Himatangi on Monday we had a heavy yarding of sheep, which met with keen competition, resulting in a total clearance (with the exception of one pen) being effected under the hammer. Very few cattle came forward, but those that were yarded sold well. A number of horSes were yarded, but although good money was offered, vendors’ reserves precluded business being done. We quote sheep thus: Twotooth Romney ewes, 13s rod, twotooth to f.m. Romney ewes lis 6d to 14s id, f.m. Romney ewes ns, store ewes 7s qd, cull ewes 2s 2d, fat and forward ewes 10s 8d to 11s id, forward rape lambs 8s to 9s, woolly lambs 5s id to 5s lod, cull woolly lambs 3s id to 3s qd, shorn lambs 3s 5d to 4s qd, 2 and 4-tooth wethers ns qd to 12s sd, forward wethers 13s id to 13s yd, Romney ram lambs 20s, mixed age Romney rams 21s, 2-tooth Romney rams 3gns to 3Xs ns - Cattle; Mixed yearlings 31s, forward cows £2 is to £2 Bs.
