New Plymouth, February 7. A Maori man, name unknown, was killed near Okato yesterday. He fell from his horse and was dragged along the road. His foot caught in the stirrup and his skull was fractured.

It is understood that negotiations for the resumption of lea estate, the property of the late Rev. J. C. Andrew, for close settlement have been initiated by the Government.
