BUTTER MARKET.
London, February 6. There is great demand for colonial butter, sellers making their own prices. Choicest. Australian is worth 1365, New Zealand 138 s. Wellington, February 7.
Advices have been received in Wellington that the whole of the Tongariro’s shipment of butter to London, comprising 47,000 cases, met a buoyant market, and realised the highest piices ever given for New Zealand butter in England. It brought 130 s a hundredweight, which is set down as being 3s a hundredweight higher than the present quotation for the best Danish butter.
Auckland, February 7
The price of factory butter was raised to-day locally, to is id per lb wholesale. Milk has been advanced by the retail dealers from 3)4d to 4d per quart.
