London, January 21. Sir Henry Fowler, speaking at Wolverhampton, made a 'strong pronouncement against Socialism. It was advocated by well-meaning men who had not thought the question out. Strong action is threatened in Parliament regarding the secret enquiry into the theft of regalia from Dublin Castle. It transpired that nine keys existed. Two belonged to Sir Arthur Vicars, one to the police, and another was at the disposal of the Office of Works. Johannesburg, January 21. A score ot Indians and Chinese at Johannesburg have been ordered to quit within a fortnight. An ex-soldier was sentenced to two months for refusing to leave, and 80 hawkers have been sentenced to a fortnight for not holding licenses. The Diamond Syndicate has agreed with the De Beers and Premier mines to maintain prices at the present level, despite the depression of the market.
