POOR OLD WINDMILL.

Sir, —Would you kindly find a corner in your valuable journal for my cause and complaint ? I am- a poor old windmill, who has been ' pumping up pure water from the bowels of the earth, 250 ft, for a great number of years, doing my best, to supply the good citizens of Foxton with the water of life for their households, their horses, and their cows, but I, am now getting old and dilapidated, quite out of' repair, and badly want an overhaul. If the Mayor or some of the City Fathers would be so good as to send : the engineer who put me up to repair my pump and fix me up generally—my gearing wheels’ teeth are quite stripped— I will do my best while the elements allow, to give forth the water of live to man and beast; but if not attended to, and that at once, I will assuredly collapse, for I am sick and weary of my task, my fans are broken, my joints are stiff and want the help of the good physician. X hope my appeal will not be neglected, particularly at the present very dry season. —I am, etc., Poor Old Windmill.
