Paris, January n. Lemoine denies that his system is a fraud, and claims that he demonstrated his discovery when a contract was made with Julius Werner. He stipulated that the formula for the manufacture of diamonds should be deposited in a Tondou bank, to remain unopened until Lemoine’s death, when it would become Werner’s property. The magistrate is considering the question of obtaining and opening the envelope containing the lormula. (A recent cable stated that M. Temoine, an engineer, had been arrested in Paris on a charge of swindling a South African mining magnate of ,£64,000, by pretending that he was able to manufacture diamonds.]
