A meeting of tbe Stewards of the Fox ton Racing Club was held in the Club’s office on Saturday evening. Present: —Messrs Barber (chairman), Gray, Hunt, 0. and C. Robinson, A. Shadbolt, A. and J. Symons. 0. Austin and the Secretary (A Keith). It was decided to engage the services of Mr P. Ross, of Wellington, as course detective for the coming meeting. On the motion of Mr Hunt, seconded by Mr J, Symons, it was resolved that bookmakers be licensed to bet at the coming meeting at a tee of /20 per day, such fee to admit one clerk. Place to bet to be alloted by the Com? mittee under conditions similar to the Manawatu Racing Club. The following new members were elected.:~-Messrs C. Owing to the hostile tion at the Bulls meeting, McKelvie has written to the hxH club tendering his resignation iM judge at the forthcoming meeting. This decision will be received with regret by a large number of sports throughout the district. We understand an effort will be made to secure the services of Mr G. Tully, who for some years was judge to the Wairarapa Racing Club.
