TO THE SOUTH POLE.
Dunedin, Dec. 30. The Koonya leaves for Lyttleton this afternoon to tow the Nimrod on her trip to the Polar ice. It is expected the voyage and return will occupy 22 days, but the vessel is provisioned for five months in case cf emergency. An extra crew, all young men, is being taken. The Union Company has provided them with oil clothing and blankets.
