FOOTBALL Another All Black Defeat. London, Nov. 27. . In the football match against Rundorn, the latter scored three tries (9 points) and the New Zealand team failed to score. The match was played on a saturated ground, and the New Zealanders were compelled to act on the defensive throughout the greater portion of the game. (According to the original programme, the New Zealanders were to have played a West Lancashire team at Liverpool yesterday, and the Runcorn match was down for December. HOME RULE. London, Nov. 28. Mr John Redmond, speaking at Cardiff, declared that the Irish party, . which was absolutely united, intended to force Home Rule to the front during the next session of Parliament. THE FINANCIAL CRISIS. Statement by London Banker. London, Nov. 28. In the course of his presidential address to the Institute of Bankers, Sir Felix Schuster said he did not expect to see low rates rule for money for some little time. He referred to the indications of coming restrictions of trade all over the world, and considered the development of trade had proceeded somewhat too rapidly, outstripping available capital. This was especially the case in railway and electrical undertakings. AFFAIRS IN MOROCCO. Paris, Nov. 28. Advices received from Morocco state that tribes who have hitherto remained neutral have joined the Beni Hassan tribe, and the situation is regarded as critical. Reinforcements are urgently needed, lest the French be overwhelmed. There is great alarm among Europeans and natives all along the Algerian frontier. Abdul Aziz, the Sultan, is cooperating with the French to crush the Beni Hassan movement. Accounts published in Le Temps of the fighting at Hack-ick-chifar on Sunday morning, show that Colonel Telinesu’s infantry were almost surrounded, owing to a mist which hung over the locality. Though the machine guns inflicted terrible losses, the Arabs renewed the attack with a desperate fury that threatened to overwhelm the camp. Then two hundred Spahis repeatedly charged and engaged the attackers in a fierce hand-to-hand struggle, ultimately compelling the Arabs to retreat. London, Nov. 28. Reuter’s Tangier correspondent reports that Kaid Maclean will be released shortly, as Raisuli has agreed to terms. ENCOURAGING THE BIRTH RATE. Perth, Nov. 28. The Assembly carried an amendment to the Income Tax Bill granting an exemption of £1 o per child for families up to five.

The Government will invite Mr Ferguson, secretary and engineer to the Wellington Harbour Board, tu visit Melbourne to consult on the best means of providing additional harbour accommodation, which has been under considerafor some time. St. Petersburg, November 27. Count Witte has been appointed a director of the Russian Discount Credit Bank. This implies his retirement from political life. Loango, Nov. 27. Bodsaki tribesmen in the Mongalla district are reported to have killed and eaten five Congo State soldiers. Svdney Nov. 28. There was a strong muster ot representatives of the temperance and liquor interests to-day at the opening of the new Court appointed to carry into effect the local option vote.
