TENNIS.

A special general meeting of the local tennis club will be held on the courts on Wednesday afternoon next, at four o’clock. The business to be discussed is the consideration of the rules. We understand that players have been using in shoes contrary to those stipulated in the rules. The subject has given cause to a little unpleasantness, which has been aggravated by the officiousness of certain members on the point. It may be as well to explain that every member of the Club from third-rate to first-class players are entitled to equal privileges on the courts, and any complaints should be referred to the committee to be dealt with. It is hoped that every member will endeavour to be present at Wednesday’s meeting.
