CHRISTCHURCH TRAGEDY.

Lunatic Shoots His Wife. Christchurch, Yesterday. Some time ago a man named Hans Wilson attempted to murder his wife, and was sent to a lunatic asylum. He was released recently, as he appeared to have fully recovered his reason. He was prohibited from obtaining liquor, and was apparently behaving well. Yesterday morning, however, he fired three shots at his wife, all taking effect, 1 the woman being shot dead. Wilson shut himself up in a room and fired twice at his own breast. He was removed to the hospital, but hopes of his recovery are slight. He is aged 50, and has five children.
