TOWN BURIED.
Huge Loss of Life. London, October 31, Reuter’s correspondent at Tashkand, the capital of Russian Turkestan, states that an earthquake on October 21st caused a great mountain slide, burying the Bokharan town of Kanatagh, 100 miles south-east of Samarcand. The bulk of the inhabitants, numbering 15,000, perished. Some, including the Governor, escaped.
