THE LIBRARY.

At last night’s meeting of the Borough Council a letter was read from a subscriber to the Library, complaining that on several afternoons a visit had been made in order to change a book, between the hours of 3 and 4 p.m., at which time the Library is supposed to be open daily, but the place was locked up. The subscriber did not appreciate such fruitless visits. The Mayor said a good many complaints had been made in reference to the Library not being open at the proper hours. Cr Shadbolt said this was the only complaint made. The Mayor said quite a number of Verbal complaints had been made. Gr Wilson said he had heard the same thing,, A resolution was passed to the effect that, owing to a number of

complaints about the library not being open at the proper hours, the , librarian be requested to attend more carefully to his duties in the future.
