SPORTS AND CONCERT.

To-morrow.

A final reminder is given of the sports and concert to be held tomorrow. Good entries have beed received, and sport should bel good. In all, ten teams have en A tered for the football competitions, while for the minor events nominations close on the racecourse. The sports commence at 2 o’clock, and competition for the different medals should be keen. Messrs Woods and White will officiate as referees, while Messrs Shadbolt, Robinson and others, will act as honorary officials. Trophies have .been donated by Messrs Dr Mandl, A. Shadbolt, J. Jillett, J. Gillespie, and D. Heagerty,

At the concert to-morrow evening, all the medals, together with the Austin Banner, Coley Cup, and Hickson Cup, will be presented to the different winners, which in itself should be a big draw. The entertainment will consist of items from many Palmerston vocalists, besides locals, and the Public Hall .should be packed. Amongst the items, the popular Dan Heagerty ' will recite Henry Dawson’s poem,! “In the Steerage. ” The local \ Brass Band will play outside the Hall prior to the concert. Tickets can be had from school children to-morrow at 2s and is.
