AN OUTSPOKEN CLERGYMAN.
Adelaide, September 19. At the sittings of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Australia, the Rev. Dr. Clouston, in his opening address, declared that there was a decided revolt against the Church. People were discriminating between Christ and the Church ; they said the modern Church did not fairly represent the original society established by Christ. Christ had preached to outcasts, and had associated with sinners, and their Church, with its respectabilities and pew rents, was for the well-to-do and respected.
