The Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union has made several disqualifications general, including a life sentence imposed by the Buffer Union on a player for striking the referee and others.
The names of several players who had played with the professional team were forwarded by Canterbury', Wairarapa and Wanganui Unions. All such players were expelled. The appeal of the Pioneer Club Gore, against disqualification by Southland Union for refusing to meet Waikara on the latter’s ground was disallowed but Southland Union is to be asked to review the circumstances. Ashburton, August 22. During the {progress of the representative football match between North Canterbury and Ashburton County teams, a player named H. Jeffries, of Loburn, had his leg broken. He collided with an Ashburton player named A. Patterson. The play was not rough and the accident was pure misadventure.
