ALL SAINTS’ GUILD.

Annual Tea and Concert. The annual tea and concert held .A, under the auspices of All Saints! v Guild took place in the Public Hall last evening, and was well patronised. The tables groaned beneath the burden of good things provided, and ample justice was done to the feast. The lady members of the Guild were assiduous in catering for the wants of those ' assembled. The concert pro* gramme which followed was much appreciated. The Vicar, Rev. G. Young-Woodward, presided, and in Lis opening remarks said that the object of the annual tea and concert w T as to draw the people together for a few hours of social intercourse. He expressed his pleasure at seeing such a large number present, and said it showed the truth of the old proverb, “the best way to the people’s hearts was down their throats” (laughter). He mentioned the zealous work of the Guild under the leadership of Mrs A. S. Easton, and to that august body they owed their gratitude for the very excellent tea given. He also referred in praiseworthy terms to Mr Betty, who had taken considerable trouble to work up the concert. The reverend gentleman, also at a suitable break in the programme, awarded the medals won that day at the hockey tournament by the Moutoa ladies team, namely—the Misses Howe, Smith, Bowe (2), and Walden. The team was loudly cheered upon receiving their handsome gold medals. The following ladies and gentlemen contributed items to the • programme : Miss Jenks, Master T. East, Miss Adams', Messrs Henderson, Betty and Bullard (trio), Mrs Robinson, Mr Longworth (club swinging), Mr Cook, Messrs Ennis, Betty and Moorman (instrumental trio), Mr Hornblow, Misses Aitken, Cargill,* Messrs Henderson and Betty (voAl quartette), Mesdames Robiqkon and Clemett (vocal duet), Wl Moorman (flute solo), Mr 'flivelyau, Mr Woods and Mrs Rodie. ’ Accompaniments were played •by Mrs .Young, Misses Cook (2), •

Jenks, Furrie, and Mr Moorman. The singing of the National Anthem brought the aff air to a close.
