A SERIOUS CHARGE.
Wellington, August 20,
A married woman named Annie Whicaker a - d a carpenter name! William Bnrford were charged at the Magist'ate’s Court to-day with having used an instrument for an unlawful purpose on a young woman, 17 years of age. Theivictira of the alleged offence, it was stated, is in the Wellington: Hospital in rather a critical condition. The case was adjourned till 3 o’clock this afternoon to have the girl’s depositions taken
