FOXTON ATHLETIC CLUB.
A meeting of the above club w T as held last evening in Gray’s Hotel, there being present —E. Healey (in the chair), Messrs Whibley, Gillies, Baker, Hickson, Hynes, Woods, Martin, Hood and Rough (secterary). The following programme w ? as drawn up:—Local bike race of one mile. Maiden race 150yds, Boys bike race (local) one mile, Foxton Grand Handicap of three distances 440, 220 and looyds, Girls race (local) Foxton Wheel race two miles, Half mile running, District Footballers’ race 100yds, One‘mile Bike race, Ladies Bracelet, One mile running, Wrestling, Half mile Bike, Baby show (under nine months), One and half mile Bike race, Forced Handicap, 150yds, Tug of War —ten men aside.
Messrs Hickson and Hynes consented to canvass the town for trophies. The Secretary was instructed to write Traffic Manager, Wanganui, asking for a special train from Feilding on sports day and to Manawatu County Council for special tram from Sanson. Votes of thank? to the chair and Mr Gray for the use of room terminated the meeting.
