ACCIDENTS.
Dunedin, July 31
James Arthur, a single man, twenty-eight years of age, has died at North-East Valley, as the result of injuries sustained on the railway duplication works at Caversham on March 6th. While deceased was unloading sand from trucks, an engine bumped the trucks-againgta sleeper and Arthur was crushed. He was taken to the hospital, where he remained for two months, being then removed to his home. An inquest will be held. - Gisborne, July 31. One of the Hawke’s Ba3 r Motor Bus Company’s coaches met with a serious accident at Tiniroto today. In crossing over a slip on the road it over-turned, and fell down the hill-side, turning over twice. The driver and one passenger escaped injury, as did also the horses, which were cut clear, but the coach was -smashed to pieces.
