FOXTON POST OFFICE.

Grant under Consideration.

We have received the following letters from Mr John Stevens, member for the district, in reference to the erection of a post office in Foxton to replace the present obsolete and worm-eaten structure: — Parliament Buildings, Wellington, 26th July, 1907. The Proprietor Herald, Foxton. Dear Sir, —Herewith I beg to transmit to you a copy of a letter which I have just received from the Right Hon. the PostmasterGeneral respecting the much desired new Post Office. I think we are right in assuming that the much needed new structure will, in due course, become,a fact. The Postmaster-General’s letter is for publication at your discretion,— Yours truly, John Stevens. [copv.'J General Post Office, Wellington, 25th July, 1907. Sir,—l have the honour to refer to your letter of the 12th instant forwarding copy of a resolution of the Foxton Borough Council about the erection of the new post office in that town, and to inform you, in reply, that the matter of placing a sum on the Estimates for a new building is under consideration.— I have the honour to be, Sir, Your obedient servant, (Signed) J.
