COMMITTED FOR TRIAL.

A Thrice-Married Bachelor.

Napier, July 17

Arthur Graham Owen was today committed for trial on a charge of making a false declaration to the Registrar of Marriages at Christchurch. The prosecution stated that accused had declared himself a bachelor, and had gone through the ceremony of marriage with Ruth Muter, he having previously gone through the same ceremony with a woman named Minnie Schmitt, at Adelaide. According to a statement made by accused, the Adelaide marriage was not legal, because he then had a wife living in England.
