LEVIN DRAMATIC COMPANY.
Public Hall, to-morrow night. The farcical comedy, “Confusion,” which is to be staged by the Levin Dramatic Company in the Public Hall to-morrow night, should attract a large attendance. An outline of the comedy is as follows: Christopher Blizzard (Mr V. Fitzherbert) wishes to please his daugeter-in-law by procuring a pet pug, at the same time running a risk ot getting into disfavour with his son-in-law, who has an abhorrence of pugs. In the meantime Maria (Miss A. Hayes) and James (Mr C. G. Banks), a married couple with a young- babj", accept a position at the house of Mr Mumbleford (Mr G. R. Goodall) as a single pair. During their stay at the house they receive a telegram that their child, who was left in a nursing home, is ill, and Mr Blizzard also receives a wire to say that the pug can be procured on calling. The telegrams get into the hands of other persons, serious complications arise, and the love making of Blizzard and Miss Lucretia Tickleby (Miss E. Gibson) is abruptly brought to an end, the wire concerning the child, which she thinks is his dropping into her hands. Then Mr Mumbleford becomes implicated, and disowns his wife. Thg matter becomes serious and Rose Mumbleford (Mrs Goodall) gets greatly upset at her husband’s demeanour. Finally, it is found how the mistake arose, all ends amicably, and the love making proceeds. The pug is allowed to remain as a child of the household, Mr Mumbleford agreeing to allow Mrs Mumbleford to have a thousand of such if she wishes.
