A separate rate of i-6d is being struck, giving an additional During the year the Council thought it advisable to erect a cottage for the roadman, as he could not get a suitable dwelling; This brings in a rent of -6s per week.

Whirokino Sub-Division. —The separate rate of struck over this portion of the Awahou Riding last year was not sufficient for the upkeep of roads and bridges. This road has been completed now, all but a length of 60 chains, and an application has been made to Government for a further, grant towards the road.
