THE CAPTURED KAID.

Morocco, July n

One of the Raid Mcßean’s bodyguard has reached . Tangier. He states Colonel Macßsan carried a letter of pardon to the tribes who were assisting Raisuli. The latter pretended that the tribes would not accept the letter as genuine unless the Raid personally read it to them. Raisuli induced them to visit the tribesmen and had arrested him after reading the letter. The Sultan heads a powerful expedition against Raisuli.

Colonel Macßean writes that he is in good spirits. The headmen of the neighbouring tribes prevented Raisuli from moving him elsewhere.
