Monthly Meeting.
By Telegraph—Special to Herald. Wanganui, This Day. The ordinary meeting of the above was held last night. Present; Messrs Pirani (chairman), Carson, Dixon, Fraser, Guthrie, Purnell, Smith, and Spurdle. The following appointments were made :—Ohingaiti, Miss Marten; Clydesdale, T. G. McCairu ; Sanson, Miss N. Bailey; Waitohi, Miss Weeks. Resignation: Miss O’Brien, Colyton.
Leave of absence was granted to the following : —A. D. Reed, three months; R. J. Williamson, one week; F. H. S. Rockell, one month. Tenders for additions to Queen’s Park school were all considered too high, and the matter was referred back to the Building Committee. The recommendations of the Chief Inspector with respect to Dairy Instruction by Mr Brown, was adopted. In the formation of farmers’ and factory managers’ classes, Mr Brown will act in conjunction with Mr Amos, the Board’s supervisor of technical instruction for the southern district. The tender of T. B. Cutton, for erecting the Himitangi school, was accepted at ,£359. The following schools are closed through measles : Stanway, Turakina, Mataraoa, Ruahine, Dunolly, and Pukeokahu. It was resolved to send a circular on cleaning and sanitation of schools to every school committee in the district. A letter from Mr Win. Adams, re teacher’s residence at Foxton, was referred to Mr Fraser and the architect to report to the building ommittee.
