The Board of Agriculture is instituting an inquiry into the cause and remedy of a distemper in dogs. Mr Asquith said there will be no issne of Transvaal stock in the current financial year, but only shortdated securities for one million for coming requirements in anticipation. Later a five million loan will be issued. The New South Wales Emigration Bureau reports that during the last halfyear assisted passages were granted to 1594 males and 427 females. Assistance is now confined to agriculturists and domestic servants. Reports from country agents state that agriculturalists are ready to go after the harvesting is over.

New South Wales and Western Australia will make a large combined exhibit at tU Royal Agricultural show at Lincoln, and it will afterwards be sent to the other leading shows. Capetown, June 25.
