SOUTH AFRICA.
The Boer Intention. Pretoria, June 18. In the Legislative Council Sir George Farrar denounced the loan gurantee as a fresh instance of Downing street’s interference in domestic concerns and taking the vital question of labour out of the Transvaal’s hands. He added that the Government policy respecting an increased supply of natives was merely a policy of pious hopes in the teeth of the findings of many commissions. There were signs of the Government intention to cancel the debts of repatriated burghers, while the leaders in Orangia united in hinting an intention to repudiate all liability on behalf of the Orange River Colony. Sir George censured Mr Botha for breaking his promise to protect the mining interests.
