Berlin, June 14. Serious gambling and moneylending scandals in the German Army have come to light. The Kaiser had.ordered forty officers of the Hanover Riding School to return to their regiments.

The Public Prosecutor has ordered an investigation of charges of unnatural offences against Prince Phillipe of KuleuburgHertefeld, who instigated his own prosecution as a means of selfdefence against charges made by Maximilian Harden in the newspaper Zukunft. Mr J. F. Arnold, M.H.R., of Dunedin, has during his visit to Australia, investigated the working of Wages Boards in Victoria. He believes their introduction to New Zealand would be of valuable assistance to the Arbitration Court.

Mr Arnold is much impressed with the management of gaols in New South Wales.
