At a meeting of Wanganui Presbytery held at Palmerston on Tuesday last, the Moderator (Rev. Mr Jutson)'perpetrated one of the best bulls we have noticed for a long time. The Presbytery was arranging for the settlement of a Minister for Bulls and it was agreed to sustain a call to the Rev. Evan Evans, of Auckland province. To facilitate the settlement the Presbytery arranged for its next regular meeting to be held at Bulls at a suitable time to induct Mr Evans. A difficulty in the arrangements struck the Moderator, who exclaimed, “But brethren, if Mr Evans doesn’t come, the Presbytery cannot meet till he does come.’’ Needless to say the learned fathers and elders greeted the statement with hilarious demonstrations.
