FOOTBALL.

By Probable. Saturday’s game on the racecourse was not up to the standard of play witnessed at the previous match. However, the game was evenly contested, and was eventually won by Awahou by a try to nil, scored by Osboldstoue from a loose rush in the second spell. It was mostly a forward display, in which Hooker, Shadbolt, Wright, Redgrave, and Coley were the most conspicuous for the winners, while for Albions, Mono, Marshall, Bowe, Rimmer, and Frankland played well. Mr F. Woods refereed. ’

Notes. During the first spell Mr McFwen had the misfortune to get his leg badly broken just below the right knee. It was in the loose when his leg came in contact with the leg of an Awahou player, Mr McEwen’s leg at the same time slipping with the ball. Dr Mandl was soon in attendance, and the injured man was conveyed to Mr Shadbolt’s Hotel, where the leg was set by the doctor, and the injured one was cared for until this morning, when he was removed to the Palmerston Hospital. It is expected the sufferer will be bedridden fcr about two months. Besides members of the Sub Union. Messrs C. Hunt, W. Walden, A. Shadbolt, and others, are deserving of praise for assistance rendered in connection with the accident, also Dr Mandl, who has rendered his services gratuitously. The Secretary A. Imrie (Albions) has a subscription list in hand to aid the injured man, who had not availed himself of the insurance scheme instituted this year by the Foxton Sub-Union. Albion and Awahou- juniors try conclusions to-morrow afternoon, while Rongotea are bringing a strong team down to meet Awahou next Saturday. The team to represent Albions in their match against Awahou on the racecourse to-morrow will be as follows: —Full-back, Edwards ; 24, Pare, W. Cook, J. Walker ; 5/ &i K. Furrie; W. Shields; forwards, C. Cummerfield, Elsmore, A. Cook, W. Bowe, J. Coley, R. Rimmer, D. Webb, A. Evans, W. Walker. Emerg. —G. Walker, A. Rimmer, Dixon, Rauhihi, R. Walden, A. Shadbolt and A. J. Imrie. The team to represent Awahou juniors to-morrow, will be chosen from the following : Brown, Andreson, Bogue, Jillett, Bowe, Wanklyn (2), Walden, Wilson, F. Davis, W. Spelman, J. Webb, W.
