A two storeyed building is shortly to be erected in Main Street.
Mr G. W. Morgan, local agent for Messrs Eevin and Co., left for a fortnight’s holiday to-day.
An addition is made to Mr P. H Rae-Howard’s property list in this issue.
A heavy frost was experienced this morning throughout the district, result, a fine day. A person, while in an intoxicated condition, bumped up against and broke a window at Mr Walker’s store the other evening. A mission will be opened in the local Roman Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Lowham on Sunday, 23rd. Subscribers to the Herald who live at a distance, and whose children attend the local school, would receive their papers with greater despatch if they allowed them to be called for.
Messrs Sutherland and Rough have four washing-stands tor sale cheap, and a good naptha shop lamp. This firm also give notice in another column that they are prepared to clean, repair, and oil cycles for a period of six months for the small sum of 10s in advance.
Last evening a meeting was held by the All Saints’ Choir, and it was decided that a concert and play should beheld on the nth July next, the proceeds of which will go towards paying off the outstanding debt on the organ. The concert will be arranged by Mr Betty, the choir master, and the play by all the members of the choir. Programme and further particulars will be announced at a future date.
